If you want a topical solution for hair loss, the market basically gives you two options: minoxidil or plant extracts.
Minoxidil might work, but it can cause severe side effects. You also do not get to stop using it. Ever. Plant extracts are kinder, but do little more than improve scalp health. Hair regrowth is another story completely.

The problem is as follows: many active ingredients are inherently unstable and require careful handling to remain effective. That is especially true for the ingredients that have been clinically proven to be effective for hair growth – growth factors.

What is the difference between the Kickstarter prelaunch and the launch?
The prelaunch is where we build our early community before the official Kickstarter campaign goes live.
Years ago, brands could launch on Kickstarter and simply see what happened. Those days are over. Successful campaigns now start months before launch, building awareness, collecting emails and finding the people who genuinely want the product.
That way, when the campaign goes live, there is already a strong base of supporters - giving the project a much better chance of being funded and delivered.
Why do I have to place a small reservation fee?
The small deposit helps us understand who is seriously interested.
Think of it as a mini-pledge: a way to show genuine intent before the full Kickstarter campaign launches. This helps us plan production, forecast demand and make better decisions.

What will Pokoi cost after Kickstarter?
After Kickstarter, Pokoi will move towards our regular webshop and subscription model.
Our planned retail price is €200 excluding VAT for one month of serum, and €200 excluding VAT for the scalp device. Subscription plans will offer ongoing discounts, with the highest savings reserved for longer routines, but our Kickstarter launch prices will be the lowest prices we offer.
Can I use Pokoi before or after a hair transplant?
Yes. Pokoi can be used both before and after a hair transplant.
Before a transplant, improving hair growth may help reduce the number of grafts needed, making the procedure more efficient. After a transplant, Pokoi can help support the surrounding hair and combat further hair loss - something many people experience in the years after surgery.
Always follow your surgeon's advice on when to start using topical products again after your procedure.
How does Pokoi compare with a hair transplant?
Hair transplants are often seen as the gold standard. And for some people, they can be a good solution.
But they are also expensive, invasive and not always as permanent as people think. One retrospective study found that four years after surgery, more than 90% of patients showed some reduction in hair density in the recipient area, with over 60% showing a moderate or substantial reduction.1
Pokoi is different. It is a non-invasive, at-home routine designed to support visible hair growth without surgery, grafts or recovery time.

Are your products suitable for women?
Absolutely. Our serum has shown positive results for both men and women in clinical testing.
Hair loss is not just a male problem - and Pokoi was never designed as a men-only product.
Are your claims scientifically backed?
Yes. Scientific evidence is the foundation of Pokoi.
Our serum was tested clinically, and the active ingredients and delivery technologies we use are supported by published research. You can find a selection of the most important studies on our website.

Your serum bottle says 'biomimetic'. What does that mean?
Biomimetic simply means 'inspired by biology'.
In our case, it means our serum uses lab-grown ingredients designed to mimic natural signals involved in hair growth. Instead of forcing the scalp into action with ingredients foreign to the body, Pokoi works with biological mechanisms your body already understands.
What types of hair loss does Pokoi work for?
Pokoi was tested across several common forms of hair loss, including male and female pattern hair loss, spot baldness and diffuse hair loss - including hair loss linked to menopause and postpartum shedding.
It has not been tested for alopecia totalis.
It may also be relevant for people experiencing rapid hair shedding during medical treatments, but if your hair loss is linked to illness, medication or cancer treatment, always consult your doctor before using any cosmetic or topical product.
When can I expect to see results?
Hair growth takes time.
During clinical testing, the strongest results were seen after approximately 6 months. That is why we recommend using Pokoi consistently for at least that period. Consistently means twice a day, preferably in the morning and at night.
The first visible improvements may appear after 2 to 3 months, but the real difference usually comes with consistent use.
Do results disappear if I stop using Pokoi?
We built Pokoi to work itself out of a job – handing growth back to your follicles. Instead of propping results up for as long as you keep applying something (and losing them when you stop), it aims to get follicles functioning on their own again. What we've seen so far, from the scientific studies and our own user reports, points that way.
That said, we won't promise permanence we can't prove: nobody fully understands the mechanisms behind hair loss yet. If keeping your results matters to you, we'd recommend continuing with Pokoi at a reduced frequency after the first six months.
Are you planning to extend your range of products?
Yes, but carefully.
Once we have successfully launched our hair growth routine, we plan to expand into other areas of dermal cosmetics. Behind the scenes, we have already been working on a facial serum that significantly reduces wrinkles and a serum for acne, using similar growth factors, peptides and novel delivery techniques.
The added benefit: our diamagnetic device is designed to work across our future product range. Different products require different settings, so the device is built to be adaptable. We use interchangeable nano-SIM cards that change the wavelength of the device, making it suitable for different kinds of products. You'll have the option of adding different kinds of SIM cards when ordering our device.
We believe in building Pokoi properly - not rushing into the next thing.
Where are Pokoi products produced?
Our serum is developed and produced with specialist partners in South Korea, one of the world's leading centres for advanced dermal cosmetics.
Our diamagnetic scalp device is produced in Singapore in a specialised manufacturing facility that meets FDA and EU production standards.
